I am bringing five pairs of jeans, one pair of shorts, seven shirts, my north face jacket, a rain jacket, a pair of sneakers, my computer, my phone, three books, a sketchbook, and some colored pencils. I'm bringing five pairs of jeans because jeans will be able to keep me warm as weather in Montreal can get quite cold and because jeans are comfortable and if I'm not at least somewhat comfortable on the trip, it will be truly miserable. I'm only bringing one pair of shorts because I'm not going to need them until the summer and it doesn't make sense to have more than one pair if I'm not going to need them in a while. Also, if it gets really hot during the summer, I can cut some of my jeans to make them into shorts. I'm bringing seven basic and comfortable shirts because being comfortable is one of my main priorities for the trip. I'm bringing my north face jacket because it will keep me warm and is my favorite sweater and reminds me of home. I'm bringing my rain jacket in case there is very wet weather in Montreal or for some reason I need to keep myself out of the rain during the trip. I'm bringing my computer (which is a mac book air, so won't take up much space) so I can do any needed research and I'm bringing my phone so that I can get in contact with anyone I need to or if there is an emergency on our way to or in Montreal. Lastly, I'm bringing three books, a sketchbook, and some colored pencils to keep me entertained during the trip. I'm leaving behind most of my possessions as very little can fit in a small carry-on suitcase. I'm only bringing the bare essentials and although it is upsetting to leave behind so many things I'm attached to, I realize that it is crucial to only bring what I absolutely need.
